It is a NAPA brand and the counter guy said it was good to use on motors. Well we put the case halves together a WEEK ago and the stuff is just as tacky on the outside (squish) as the day we put it on. Is this normal or do we ... The last time I took it to chrysler, they used black. And by the time I got there to pick it up, there was a huge puddle under the truck. They took it back in and had to do it again. Permatex is making a Gear Oil RTV now, that is what I have used for axle pans lately. It was like $5 for a 8oz or 12oz tube. But like mentioned, any RTV is going to work well, RTV for a specific application will probably just last a tiny bit longer than plan old black RTV.
